I am a graduate student in a joint architecture/planning masters program here at Maryland. I am in the process of working on my thesis this semester. My project focuses on master planning the 41 acres comprising the Knox Box site. I was able to participate in the student forum and charrette, as well as the presentation of the results to the city council. ReThink College Park is a great forum for continuing the momentum started by Andrew Rose and company. I will continue to patronize your site, and will try to incorporate as many of the student ideas as possible into my project. My one hope for the drawings and documents generated this semester is that they can offer concrete possibilities to generate further discussion. Keep up the good work, and stop by to say hello.

The proposed district includes structures on both sides of Calvert Road, a street several groups from last spring’s design charrette targeted for dense development to create a pedestrian corridor running from the Metro station to downtown, the Knox Road area, and the campus.
